Three Wheeled BuggiesIf you're looking for a buggy jog with or just a nifty stroller to tackle neighbourhood walks,
three wheel pushchair wheeled buggies offer great mobility. Their compact design makes them easy to manoeuvre even in tight areas.
If you want a smooth ride on your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels that swivel. They are, however, susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have a repair set.
Frame made of sturdy material
Recent figures have been released showing that the three-wheeled buggy - a symbol of the noughties of more money than sanity - is in steep decline. They've been replaced with four-wheelers which can handle a wider variety of terrain, while also looking elegant and easy to push.
The basic rule is that the bigger the wheels are, the easier it'll be for your
double buggy 3 wheels to deal with bumpy ground and rough pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back also makes it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or over difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tested the buggy with a newborn and 3 year old and found it was able to withstand grass, cobbles, rough pavements, dirt tracks and kerbs. She noted that it was sturdy to push, and extremely solid on rough terrain. Its tyres, which are inflatable and need to be pumped up occasionally and have a suspension built-in. This was extremely comfortable for my kids.
Another thing to consider is the seat size and shape. It is important for the seat to be large enough to allow your child to be comfortable and to allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies have the option of lying flat that allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only permit a parent-facing option.
The Roma Atlas is a great alternative for off-road or wet walks. This buggy is ideal for a single child as early as birth and can be modified to accommodate two children as your family grows. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4, and comes with a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a big cushioned seat. The storage options are good too, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets on the hood, and an attractive pouch at the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels give your buggy more stability while driving over rough terrain. This is perfect for buggies designed for off-road use. Additionally, they make it easier to manoeuvre the buggy through tight spaces. Many three wheeled buggies have the front wheels that swivel to help you navigate around tight corners, while others are designed for running and come with fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability with which they can be driven. This also helps when you crash into the roots of a tree or stray kerb as the front wheel will lift up to keep you from hitting it.
A majority of
3 wheeled pushchair wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres which allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They're also lighter. However, they're susceptible to punctures so you'll need a repair kit, spare tube and pump in your bag.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are some of our favourite
lightweight 3 wheel stroller-wheelers. Both of these buggies come with larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and can easily go up and down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".
Buggies with larger wheels may be quite large, and may struggle to fit in tight spaces. This can be problematic if you intend to use it for jogging or you need to get through narrow doorways while on the move. Luckily, most models have compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels for more compact storage.
Easy to Manoeuvre
A three-wheeled buggy is easier to maneuver with a child. The way in which they are constructed means that the front wheels rotate on a dime and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre and are ideal for tricky terrain such as parks, cobbles and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried a 3-wheeler with her newborn and toddler and stated: "The Terrain was a pleasure to navigate over the rough ground with the swivel rear wheel being particularly helpful. I was also awed by how well it coped with bumps, particularly when using the hand-operated brake. It was very stable going downhill or on a rough terrain."
The only drawback of this incredible maneuverability is that the 3 wheel buggy's larger wheels do sometimes mean it has to be difficult to maneuver in tight spaces - something to be aware of if you live in a city region. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be a better choice for you.
Bumper bar
Bumper bars protect your child from scrapes and bumps while out and out and about. They are easy and quick to put in and will make your child feel safe and secure whilst out on the town or taking on tough terrain.
Created to match the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller, this bumper bar features a soft and cushioned surface that provides a comfortable place for your child to hold to during walks. The robust construction and durable design will ensure that your child is able to enjoy strolling around the town without having to worry about falling or leaning towards the side.
The sling is stowed inside the frame and not on top of the seat that is modular. This puts the center of gravity for your newborn at the ideal height, and also provides an excellent weight distribution, making it easier to push over curbs (it is much easier to push a stroller up and down than you may think). MFM reviewer Kath said it was ideal on cobbles and grass. It's also a great option for running thanks to its air-filled tyres as well as a the lockable swivel wheel.
With a chic and sophisticated look This bumper bar will surely attract attention wherever you go. It's available in a range of colours and finishes to suit your style. The bumper bar can be removed and installed using the quick-release mechanism. The bumper bar is also easy to clean since it is made of strong materials. This makes it a great choice for families looking for a stylish and safe stroller accessory.
Comfort
A 3-wheel buggie offers the most maneuverability and performance when you go off road. This kind of buggy is simple to steer and turns on a dime with its perfect geometry engineering, weight, and distribution.
Designed with fabric sling seat positioned snugly inside the frame, not sitting on top like modular seats, the Sport's clever design allows it to have a lower center of gravity that is the perfect level for your child - providing you with a smoother push, a less hefty curb pop (you don't need the same amount of weight or effort to push the hood of your buggy up and over the curb) and a greater stability and balance. With 16" rear wheels, the lockable front wheel, and air-filled tyres which allow for a more smooth, comfortable jog.
As the only all-terrain pushchair in our collection that comes with a parent facing seat that can also accommodate a car seat or carrycot to ensure the future of your family and take pleasure in every moment of your day and for years to come in the footprint of one buggy!

Kath the MFM reviewer, also adored the roominess of this buggy. There's a huge easily accessible basket that's quite spacious for a buggy this
small 3 wheel stroller and there's an excellent zip-up pouch at the rear of the seat unit and even two smaller mesh pockets under the hood to keep your keys and phone.
