Mulliner, Bentley's custom coachbuilding unit, has created a unique keycase to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bentley brand. It is constructed of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying "B" paperweight keys, as well as an original 1930s booklet that features never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics
Bentley is a company which takes its aesthetics seriously. Design

Function
The Bentley Mulsanne key features buttons that open the trunk and another that can start the car. It also has a switch that can activate the parking break. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors if you are parking in a tight space. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your vehicle.
The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes two days to make each one. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, stitched and sealed, then polished to achieve a high-quality result. It is robust small and compact, and it fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a luxurious feel.
Secure-A-Key is also included to help stop keyless entry theft. The device is placed inside the remote-control key fob, and stops it after a couple of minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that are able to unlock and start the vehicle.

Its headquarters in Crewe house more than 4,000 workers who are responsible for the design, development and production of Bentley vehicles. Personalisation
Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to create their own car. The "mood station" lets customers pick images that inspire them. They can range from scenic vistas and sporting events. After each selection is made, a pattern appears, which reveals the model and color preferences for the custom

The resulting configuration is loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys which are handed out to the guests in a hand-crafted key case. Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man hours to design and put together the typical Mulsanne. A key to that time-consuming effort is a conscious refusal to embrace the latest technology. The Crewe factory workers do not make use of a machine to create perfectly matched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. Instead of letting the car's built-in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spaces, drivers have to perform the task by hand.
