Size
The Joovy Kooper X2 double stroller is a side by side
double pram and pushchair stroller. It can hold two children weighing up to 50 lbs. Its seats are larger large than other strollers with lightweight designs, and the canopies have nice-sized SPF 50 sunshades with peekaboo windows. Other important features include one-parent cup holders and a large, self-standing bin that can hold up to 25 pounds; swing-away bars for children to climb in and out of their seats and swivel lock front wheels to make it easier to maneuver on difficult terrain. This is a great option for urban and suburban families. It is also newborn-ready with a double set that includes an infant wedgie that can be used to lie flat in a position.

Weight
The weight of a double buggy is one the most important factors that determine the ease to push. Typically, a light buggy will be easier to lift and carry but it might not have enough suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.
Most double buggies come with an upper limit on the weight of each seat and some have total frame maximums, so it's important to check the details of each model prior to making a purchase. Some also fold with seats removed to make them even smaller and lighter this can be beneficial if storage space is at a premium.
The tri-fold doubles tend to be the lightest, since only one hand is needed to lift the bottom and back sections. They're also narrower than side-by-side buggies, which makes them ideal for fitting through doors. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold
off road double buggy is among the lightest on the market. It can comfortably accommodate twins or a toddler and baby.
Tandem buggies are great for growing families because they start as a single stroller and can be modified to include a second seat such as a car seat or carrycot. Some, such as the iCandy Orange offer over 30 different seating configurations, meaning they can expand with your family, up to a 3rd child. They tend to weigh more than tri-fold doubles, however they're often easier to maneuver up and down kerbs thanks to the weight being distributed more evenly.
Folding
The most compact double buggies fold easily and can be folded in a matter of seconds. This feature is well-loved by our Lab experts as it allows them to fit the buggies into the back of their vehicles and save space when they are not in use. For example the Joovy Kooper X2 has straps on each seat that pull up, and the entire thing folds down. it's a trifold that even our most senior testers could do with one hand.
The light Delta Children LX Side by Side is another good choice for a compact double buggie. Its light weight is a plus but so are its key features including large pop-out canopy with SPF 50 and peekaboo windows; swing-away bars to help children climb in and out of the seats and reclined seating and leg rests for smaller children.
Manoeuvrability
One of the most important aspects to take into consideration when selecting the right size double buggy is its manoeuvrability especially how it is simple to move around with two children on board. Some pushchairs, such as the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are better at this than others.

This is the reason why narrow tandem buggies and side-by-side designs can be handy. However, these can be a bit longer overall, and therefore could be difficult to navigate through doors.
The UPPAbaby Vista 2 pushchair is an excellent example, considering that it's a comparatively compact model that can accommodate two additional seats, and - most importantly - a pillion board that can accommodate a third child.
Other smaller, three wheeled models, like the phil&teds Dot are also extremely flexible. This is especially true with its clever "dot kit" which transforms it into an inline buggie. It comes with different seating configurations that are suitable for children with different ages. It even allows the front seat to be turned to face parents for ultimate face-to-face bonding. It has an enormous storage basket that is easy to fold. This is a great solution for families with growing children.
Comfort
Parents can keep both children safe at the park, grocery store or anywhere else with narrow tandem buggies or side-byside buggies. These
lightweight double buggy doubles can carry two children of up to 50 pounds each and come with generous pop-out canopy that extends enough to provide real shade with peekaboo windows and padded leg rests for little ones to kick back and relax. They also come with convenient cup holders for the seatback that are reversible, as well as an individual cup holder for parents and a large underseat basket.
Add the phil&teds Double Kit to your dot buggy if are starting out with a growing family. It will transform it into a double-inline stroller, which is great for both newborns and toddlers. The clever 3-wheel design allows for simple kerb popping and excellent mobility, while the sling seat provides an excellent opportunity for infants to bond with their parents. As your children grow older just swap the sling for an infant car seat adapter and you're ready to go. With a premium rain cover and travel bag, you're ready for the next adventure!
